SJCOG Regional Transportation Plan

Sacramento, CA | 2022

Cascadia Partners recently completed a first-of-its-kind regional analysis of development capacity for the 6-county SACOG region. This ambitious analysis involved cataloging dozens of general and specific plans within the SACOG region and using this data to assess the regulatory and market feasible development capacity in each of the region’s 28 jurisdictions.

As part of the process, Cascadia Partners created a database of land use and zoning regulations to accurately map the housing capacity within each jurisdiction. In addition, Casacdia Partners developed an economic model for the entire region to better understand, not only where development is allowed given local zoning regulations, but where the market is likely to make development feasible.

This work was critical in helping to inform the land use and transportation scenarios developed as part SACOG’s 2024 regional plan process.
